Introduction
From 19 to 21 June 2026, Open Garden Days let you slip behind the grand canal houses to discover their hidden private gardens — green oases you normally never get to see.
During Open Garden Days, dozens of private gardens behind Amsterdam's canal houses and several canal-house museums open to the public for a single weekend. It's a rare chance to see the green, often centuries-old gardens hidden from the street, in the heart of the historic centre.
Why visit
A single ticket gives access to the participating gardens, and it's a peaceful, unusual way to experience the canal ring. Tickets are limited — book through the official site.
