Introduction
From May through mid-September 2026, the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre stages a free weekend programme of music, comedy, dance, classical and family theatre in the heart of the city's best-loved park โ no ticket needed.
For over fifty years the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre has been the city's most accessible stage: no gate, no dress code, just settle on the grass and enjoy. Across more than a hundred free performances each summer, the weekly rhythm runs from Friday-evening dance and Saturday family theatre to Saturday-night comedy and Sunday-morning classical and afternoon pop.
Why visit
It's free, relaxed and quintessentially Amsterdam โ emerging talent alongside established names, in a beautiful park setting. There's no ticket; the theatre asks only for a voluntary donation.
