Introduction
On the weekend of 17–18 October 2026, thousands of runners take to the streets for the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, with the full marathon, half marathon and shorter distances winding through the city to the Olympic Stadium.
The TCS Amsterdam Marathon is the city's big running weekend, finishing in the historic Olympic Stadium. The route takes runners past landmarks and along the Amstel, drawing a fast field and big, friendly crowds. Alongside the full marathon there are a half marathon and shorter distances, so it's a day out for spectators as much as athletes.
Why visit
Even if you're not running, the atmosphere at the start, the finish and along the course is infectious — a great free spectacle on an autumn weekend.
