Playhood

Nestled in the emerging Houthavens district, Playhood offers a refreshing indoor play experience that sparks imagination in younger children aged 1–9. Forget the usual climbing frames; this creative role-play playground is a charming little town waiting to be explored, where kids can fully immerse themselves in pretend worlds. From bustling shops to cozy homes, children are encouraged to act out scenarios, fostering social development and imaginative thinking in a safe and engaging environment.

While the little ones are busy creating their own adventures, older kids (starting from around age 6–8) can take on the challenge of "Escapehood," the venue's own escape rooms designed to test their wits and teamwork. Sessions typically run for about 90 minutes, making it a perfectly contained and relaxed outing for families. Playhood provides a wonderful escape on a rainy Amsterdam day, but it's equally delightful on a sunny afternoon when you're looking for a low-key, enriching activity.

Parents will appreciate the relaxed vibe and the focus on creative play, which offers a welcome alternative to more high-energy indoor environments. It’s an ideal spot for a playdate or a quiet afternoon with your child, especially given its location in the family-friendly West area. It's an accessible option for quality indoor fun that prioritizes imaginative engagement over physical exertion; check the official website for current prices.
