Introduction
On 4 May 2027 the Netherlands remembers its war dead. At 20:00 the country falls silent for two minutes; the national ceremony takes place on Dam Square.
The National Remembrance on Dam Square is attended by the King and broadcast live. Across the city, people stop wherever they are for the two minutes of silence — including trams and traffic.
Please respect the silence. Access to Dam Square is limited around the ceremony; smaller local remembrances take place in many neighbourhoods.
