Introduction
On Tuesday 27 April 2027 Amsterdam turns orange for King's Day: a huge free street party with flea markets, boats on the canals and music everywhere.
King's Day celebrates the King's birthday. The whole city joins in: the free market (vrijmarkt) fills streets and parks, the canals are packed with boats and there are stages on squares.
Public transport is adjusted and the centre is very busy. Wear orange, bring cash for the vrijmarkt and plan your route in advance.
