Introduction
On National Windmill Day in May, many Dutch windmills open their doors — including several in and around Amsterdam.
Millers show how their mills work and you can often climb inside. In Amsterdam, look out for mills such as De Gooyer and the mills in Amsterdam-West and Noord.
Molendag is traditionally held on the second weekend of May. Check the official site to see which mills are open.
