Introduction
The Stille Omgang is a silent night-time procession through the medieval centre of Amsterdam, held every March since the 19th century.
Thousands of people walk in silence through the old streets to commemorate the Miracle of Amsterdam of 1345. It is a religious tradition, but also a remarkable sight of the city at night.
The procession takes place in the night of a Saturday to Sunday in March. Check the official website for the date and practical information.
