On the 23rd floor of the five-star Hotel Okura, on the edge of De Pijp, the Twenty Third Bar is one of Amsterdam's most refined high-rise bars. Some 78 metres up, it offers sweeping views over the city in an elegant, grown-up setting.
It's a champagne and cocktail bar with a serious wine, beer and spirits list and — unusually — a menu of small bites from the kitchen of the adjoining two-Michelin-star restaurant Ciel Bleu. This is indulgence with a view.
What to expect
Expect polished service, beautifully made drinks and exquisite snacks, in a calm, luxurious room rather than a party scene. It's the place for a special occasion, a glass of champagne at sunset, or an elegant start to an evening.
Good to know
It's high-end, so expect premium prices and a smart dress code. Booking is wise, especially for sunset and at weekends. It's in Oud-Zuid on the edge of De Pijp, a little out from the centre but well worth it.
