Padel is played in pairs on a small glass-walled court, and Amsterdam has plenty of clubs. Most courts are booked online through an app or the club's own booking system; you usually book the whole court for 60 or 90 minutes.
Not every club makes it clear whether non-members can book. Below we only say "no membership needed" when the club's own website says so. Prices change often, so we don't list them — check the booking platform.

How padel works

Always in pairs
Padel is played as doubles, two against two, so you usually book a court for four players.

Glass walls
The ball may come back off the walls, like in squash. Rallies last longer and beginners pick it up quickly.

Underhand serve
You serve underhand after one bounce, which makes it easier to start than tennis.

60 or 90 minutes
Most clubs rent courts for 60 or 90 minutes. Arrive a little early to collect your racket.

Tips for your first game
- Book evenings and weekends well in advance; that's when courts fill up fastest.
- Playing outdoors? Check the weather and the club's cancellation terms.
- No racket? Every club in this guide rents them; balls are often sold on site.
- Wear sports shoes with a flat sole; trail-style running shoes are less suitable.
- New to padel? Ask about a trial lesson or beginner clinic.
Indoor or outdoor?
Indoor courts work all year round, rain or wind. Outdoor courts are great in summer but depend on the weather in autumn and winter. Clubs with both give you the choice.
