Tiny Eritrean-Ethiopian favourite on the JP Heijestraat — lentil soup, tartare starter and big shared platters at gentle prices.

The name translates as "Little Africa" and the room takes it literally — a handful of tables, one big lidded platter per group, and a young crew who clearly enjoy the reveal when the cover comes off. The lentil soup and spiced tartare starters are the connoisseur openers; mains land combined on shared injera, spongy and pleasantly sour, sized so that one dish per person is plenty. Prices stay remarkably gentle for Oud-West. Evenings only and genuinely small, so book — this is the neighbourhood's favourite little secret.
