On the 11th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton, a few minutes' walk from Centraal Station, this is one of Amsterdam's most famous rooftop bars. Long known as SkyLounge, it reopened after a renovation as LuminAir — an elevated sky bar and terrace with sweeping panoramic views over the city and the IJ waterfront.
The look is modern and luxurious, with a striking sky-reflecting ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows, plus large terraces facing the water and the A'DAM Toren. By day it's a relaxed spot for drinks with a view; in the evening it builds into a buzzy, DJ-led bar.
What to expect
Expect signature cocktails and creative bar bites, polished service and one of the best central rooftop views in the city — spectacular at sunset. At weekends the 'LuminAir Sessions' bring DJs and a livelier, club-bar energy. The dress code is smart casual, so dress up a little.
Good to know
The terraces fill fast on sunny evenings, so arrive early for the best spots. Drinks are premium-priced, in line with the location and the view. It's an easy first or last stop given how close it is to Centraal.
