Café Cook sits where De Baarsjes softens into greenery, and the menu shows more thought than the relaxed setting lets on: well-executed steaks next to a cauliflower alternative, brunch that draws a loyal weekend crowd, desserts that get taken seriously. The space is bigger than it looks — there's a hidden extra room at the back — and the leafy terrace has genuine beer-garden energy in summer. Vegetarians do notably well here. A dependable all-rounder for this side of the Kinkerstraat.
