Between the towers of the Zuidas, WuSH does the unexpected: honest German-Austrian comfort food at scale. Schnitzels come in a dozen preparations — the Kraftschnitzel with hollandaise, onions and cheese is the maximalist's pick — the Schweinshaxe earns praise from Austrian guests, and the beer list runs proper German depth. Portions are generous, prices office-district reasonable, and the room absorbs both suit lunches and family dinners. Off-peak afternoons are calm in a way central Amsterdam never is. Exactly what this neighbourhood was missing.
