The Cottage does something Amsterdam barely has: a proper British gastropub, cosy without costume. Mornings mean scones, ginger cake and strong coffee; evenings bring shepherd's pie, duck leg and steaks (they serve them rare unless you say otherwise); weekends add a Sunday roast that expats plan their week around. The room is snug, the welcome genuine, and a resident cat patrols the floor like management. Closed Tuesdays, busy most other days — book for dinner, or take a bar seat and consider it the full experience.
