Brasserie Margaux
Chic French brasserie on the Beethovenstraat — foie gras, duck and a crème brûlée with a reputation, plus a chef's table up close.

Margaux is the street's classicist: a genuinely French kitchen doing foie gras, steak tartare, duck and langoustine with confidence, a wine list that rewards asking for advice, and a crème brûlée locals call one of the best they've had anywhere. The room works from morning coffee to full dinner, and the chef's table puts you at the pass for the full show — worth requesting for occasions. Courses can pace slowly on busy nights; treat that as permission to order another glass. Arguably the best pure-French cooking in Zuid right now.
